2004 Information

To the Junior Little League State tournament hosts:

 Oregon Little League District 4 is pleased and excited to offer to your tournament winner the opportunity to participate in the 2004 Western Region Junior BB Tournament as your State’s champion.  Both Oregon District Four and the Forest Grove LL Board of Directors offers congratulations and wishes the best of luck to your team as they now travel to beautiful Forest Grove, Oregon.  This community is excited to offer your team the opportunity to proceed to the World Series in Taylor, Michigan as the Western Regional champions scheduled August 15-21, 2004.

 Forest Grove is about 30 miles west of Portland and is in close proximity to the Portland International Airport.  Forest Grove offers small town living at the edge of the Portland metropolitan area.  Forest Grove is an extremely easy drive through farm land from Highway 26 and the Sunset High Tech Corridor but is considered to be a part of the Portland metro area.  Forest Grove Little League has committed to share their beautiful and majestic community for this tournament. 

 The ball field that we will be using is Bond Field in Lincoln Park, a city facility that is shared by the Pacific University baseball program and Forest Grove LL Junior/Senior Baseball.  The playing field is maintained beautifully by the Forest Grove City Parks Department and many dedicated Forest Grove LL volunteers.  Earlier this Fall, volunteers from Forest Grove Little League and the City of Forest Grove collaboratively laid new infield grass and overall improvements were made to the base paths in anticipation of not only bidding for, but being awarded this tournament.

 The Forest Grove LL Board of Directors will also be working with the City of Forest Grove officials and the Chamber of Commerce to give our visitors from the Western Region the experience of this truly remarkable community. 

 I believe that you will find, as we do, that Forest Grove will work to provide the finest experience for the young men representing your State in this tournament.
