I too, like so many others are deeply sadden by the loss of Clyde. I served with Clyde on the board of NTLL and I just can say this, that I will surely miss this great man. He always had a smile and kind words. He was so dedicated to our league and to his boys. I truly respected him as a fellow board member and friend.

He will truly be missed by all that knew him.

I knew Clyde thru Little League, Pop Warner football and high school baseball; our sons played together thru the years. The one thing you could say about Clyde was that he was an extremely humble person and never had anything derogatory to say about anybody. He was genuine. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family from mine.

Clyde Yamaguchi was one of the first people I met when I joined the NTLL Board in 2000. I had an immediate respect for him because he exuded leadership, honesty and integrity.

Over the years I saw firsthand how dedicated Clyde was to teaching our kids the game of baseball, the right way. And, I was always grateful when Clyde was behind the plate umpping my son's games. He was the kind of volunteer we should all strive to be.

Little League Baseball has lost a true mentor and gentleman.

  • We have known Clyde and his family for years. Our sons have been good friends and have grown up together. Clyde loved to watch his sons play ball! His spirit will continue to watch over them as "an Angel in the Outfield"!

I had the privilege of being an assistant coach to Clyde for two years at NTLL. I witnessed firsthand his ability to inspire without intimidation, lead without arrogance, and above all his dedication to fair play and sportsmanship from both kids and coaches. We will miss him.

I have been involved in the North Torrance Little League for 6 years and Clyde always stood out as a true role model for all of our players and parents.

We will miss seeing his face at the ballpark, but his strong, loving influence will live on in our hearts and deeds forever.

    Thank you Clyde.

Clyde Yamaguchi was my big brother, he was always there protecting me and watching out for my best interest. He was my hero and I will always look up to him and have many very fond memories of our childhood together. I miss you Clyde very much and love you.

    Your baby sister,

        Caren
